Oregano Oil the Best Natural Supplement you can get.
In the “The Miracle of Wild Oregano” Dr. Cass Ingram’s description of Wild oregano is the most powerful natural medicine known to man.
The historical use of wild oregano, including the fact that this is the healing “hyssop” of the law (of the Bible). This wonderful essential oil is made from two plant genus, Originum Compactum and Originum Vulgare. Dr. Ingram also reports that this oil, Originum Volare, was tested against aggressive germs, including the cold, flu and even bird flu viruses. In all cases the wild oregano oil destroyed the viruses. Wild oregano helps: reverse digestive complaints; boost the immune system; cleanse the body of dangerous germs, including fungi, yeasts, bacteria, and viruses; preserve the body from aging and disease because of its potent antioxidant action; and protect people of all age groups from common illnesses, including infants, toddlers and even pets.
A comparative study of the traditional use of oregano-like herbs in the Mediterranean region provides convincing evidence that the hyssop of the Bible is the carvacrol chemotype of the plant Majorana syriaca. The ancient tradition of ritual use of this plant gave rise to two cultures of condiments: za’atar in the Middle East and oregano in Europe. The flavor of the original hyssop was the determining factor in this development and remained unchanged in oregano and za’atar throughout the centuries
Inscribed on clay tablets thousands of years old (found in the Mid East), were instructions on how to “anoint” (or purify) those attending religious meetings. “Hyssop” (mentioned in the Bible and now known as the ancient herb Oregano) was used by boiling water that had the oregano leaves in it, then rinsing the hands and feet of the participants with this potent mixture. The powerful antiviral, antibacterial properties of oregano would naturally destroy any possible infections that might have been inadvertently carried into these sacred meetings
The oregano oil extracted from the culinary herb is considered similar to the oil extracted from marjoram and basil, all belonging to the Labietea (mint) family of plants. The miraculous virtues of oregano oil are attributed to the amount of carvacrol and thymol the oil actually contains. Carvacrol and thymol are the active ingredients giving the oil its reputable antiseptic properties.
There are several varieties of oregano. However, the wild oregano, Origanum Vulgare, native to the south coast of Turkey and Greece on the Mediterranean Sea is used for its miraculous medicinal properties, typically having combined carvacrol and thymol levels as high as 90 percent in some plants, depending on the location of the harvest, distillation methods and the time of year harvest takes place.

This past December, Journal of Medicinal Food published a study that evaluated the antibacterial activity of oregano oil against 5 different bad bacteria. After evaluating the anti-bacterial characteristics of oil of oregano it showed significant anti-bacterial properties against all 5 species bacteria.
Interestingly, the highest activity was observed against E. Coli, which suggests that oregano oil should be routinely used to promote gastrointestinal health and to prevent deadly food poisoning.
Two years prior, researchers from Pakistan published similar results in the journal Revista Brasileira de Farmacognosia in addition to proving oregano oil’s ability to kill cancer cells of various types
Methotrexate (MTX) is a drug commonly used to treat a wide array of issues from cancer to rheumatoid arthritis. By evaluating various markers in the sciatic nerve in mice, it was observed for the first time that carvacrol decreased the pro-inflammatory response in mice being treated by MTX.
Researchers from the Netherlands have shown that oregano oil can also “prevent bacterial overgrowth and colonization in the large intestine during oral iron therapy.”

A growing body of research has shown that oregano oil offers many positive health benefits and is one of the most potent natural remedies in existence.”
Steven Foster and Cass Ingram attributes the “fungicidal and worm-expellant properties” of oil of oregano to carvacrol and thymol claiming that these two phenols work synergistically and infinitely more potent than commercial phenol in microbial killing power.”
All of this helps make oregano oil a significant factor in treating internal and external fungi including athletes’ foot. Skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema can be improved with the application of oregano oil as well. Ingram explains that “oil of oregano outright destroys all variety of fungi and yeasts, regardless of where they reside.”

Oregano may help prevent cell damage caused by free radicals. Of all the plants in the mint family, Oregano is the richest in antioxidants. Free radical reactions are most likely involved in inflammation, degenerative arthritis and the aging process in general. Oregano contains six compounds that are expectorants; four anti-asthmatic compounds; seven that lower blood pressure; and nineteen antibacterial compounds.
Additional uses for oil of oregano are unlimited even being used to relieve diarrhea, intestinal gas, and digestive problems, as well as sore throat and breathing difficulties. Oregano oil should be in everyone’s first aid kit to help neutralize bee stings and many venomous bites until medical attention can be reached. Commercially available (oregano) oil are commonly marjoram oil or thyme oil.” These herbs are separate plants having different medicinal properties and are mislabeled as oregano essential oil. Thymus capitus is an edible herb but the oil from the same plant can be toxic with serious side effects!
It takes 500 pounds of wild oregano to make one pound of essential oil, you would expect to pay much more for the finest oregano oil available. I paid $17 for a one ounce bottle of oregano oil (30 ml.) and after using it for two weeks, the bottle still looks full. This potent oil should be in everyone’s “survival kit”
